Review of Network (1976) by Luke H — 26 Apr 2011
This has got to be one of the most depressing films I've ever seen. Not because of any emotional depression or death (though there is that), but because of its portrayal of American TV culture. The characters speak to each other in TV show metaphors, describing their lives like a drama.
Everything is about ratings, and shares, and reality is irrelevant. Millions of people, hooked on lies and deceit, living false dreams.
