Review of Network (1976) by Leighton T — 11 May 2011
The greatest satire Hollywood ever produced.
A haunting movie that shows how powerful the media always will be. A great ensemble performance. Peter Finch is terrifyingly brilliant, as is the cold as ice Faye Dunaway. Duvall is of course great, as is William Holden and Beatrice Straight and Ned Beatty are powerful in their limited scenes. The film is a vibrating, pulsating piece. The constant energy of the script is helped by sharp direction from Lumet.
