Review of Network (1976) by Sam D — 04 Aug 2012
While some criticized the sheer absurdity of this 70's classic at the time, today this film has become the perfect satire of the television and news systems which have hijacked America's consciousness and slowly sucked the majority into their mind-numbing grasp.
There's outstanding acting from all corners, particularly Peter Finch's crazed and gullible Howard Beale and a perfectly concocted villain in Faye Dunaway, who represents everything disgusting in today's capitalist approach to "trash TV.
" This film should be a must-watch for anyone who has seen past the media-created veil thrown over American's all-too-willing eyes.
