Review of Nerve (2016) by Eli R — 06 Jul 2016
Nerve after thoughts: (SPOILER ALERT) very difficult to do this review with the current & past events happening in "social media," it has affected me in my interpretation of this film. A Tylenol 3 induced mix of the "The Net" & "Pretty in Pink," the story is a very real, sad look as to what our society & our youths face in a world void of originality, the need for QUICK FAME & adrenaline rush! Yes, it captured my attention but left me feeling empty once on my feet.
I've asked in past reviewed, "where has the real film writers gone & stop rebooting classics!" This film is a great example of why Hollywood is drawing from the past, real writers have all turned into mystical unicorns.
No real memorable performances, sorry Emma R & Dave F, lending your pretty face here didn't do much but disappoint me further as to your artist journey. PLEASE WAIT TO BORROW THIS AT YOUR LOCAL LIBRARY or for another screening.
No need to let your kids see this, they are already living it at home or don't need the encouragement! ???? of 5 (1 of 5).
