Review of Nekromantik (1988) by Adam P — 08 Mar 2008
A necrophiliac character study with artistic pretensions and shock gore. The fact that it comments on itself and matches its disturbing extremes with black comedy is admirable, but it's nevertheless offputting.
Then again, that's entirely the intent. It's a strange breed of cult cinema that's more interesting in theory than in practice, though it's so notorious you'll still be curious.
