What starts as a really promising gritty drama with great performances, a palpable sense of dread and a gripping story soon turns into monotonous meandering sameyness. The change in the central character doesnt feel very convincing and this leads to a weird vibe.
Its well directed tho and is a weird mix of the excellent "this is england" with the quite boring "billy elliot." A mixed bag for sure.
