Review of Neds (2010) by Dennis R — 06 Jul 2011
The acting was very good (especially Peter Mullan's turn), the period details rich and the moments of violence were highly effective. However, the films political and philosophical stance was extremely disagreeable for me as it had a very bleak outlook on the human condition and blames society, far more than the individual, for the the wrong doings of men.
It also suffers from a meandering third act, seeming not to know how (or when) to end the narrative at all.
