Review of Ned Kelly (2003) by Liam W — 04 Feb 2008
I had heard this wasn't that good, but found myself moved - and not just because of the Heath Ledger tragedy. I didn't know much about the Ned Kelly story and am willing to accept that this may be romanticised - he came over in the script as a mix of William Wallace, Wat Tyler, Robin Hood and Butch Cassidy.
But the performances by Ledger and Bloom were excellent, even if the script could perhaps have been spruced up a bit. And what a horseman Heath Ledger was: it's a pleasure to watch him.
