Review of Near Dark (1987) by Mark G — 30 Oct 2008
A surprisingly well shot and acted vampire movie, it follows a Cowboy from the sticks who develops a crush on the wrong girl. Next to the excellent atmosphere, the movie really excells at creating a believable world for these modern day (well, 1987) vampires.
Unlike 1987's other vampire movie, The Lost Boys, with its pop culture kitsch and Corey Feldman factor, Near Dark holds up remarkably well.
