Review of Near Dark (1987) by Aaaa A — 11 May 2009
Was hard to decide whether this was a 3 or 3.5 star movie, but I ultimately went for the former since I found this cult classic a little uneven on my first viewing. There's a lot here that is good.
Bigelow is a fine director and this is a nice take on the vampire myth and film, so I'm not at all surprised of the status that it has achieved among horror fandom. Definitely will give it another try sometime in the future and worth picking up on DVD if you're a collector.
