Review of Near Dark (1987) by Doug P — 02 Jun 2010
I really enjoyed this, it came out the same year as the lost boys, and it's very much like the lost boys with no glamour, pretension, or coreys. humour comes in the form of bill paxton, doing his paxton thing (a la dark backward).
proceedings are elevated by lance henrickson, as is often the case. soundtrack is provided by tangerine dream, placing it very securely in a pretty specific era of movies. one that I happen to like very much.
