A completely surreal experience, Wacky Oliver (Stone) has crafted the most maniacal and violent film that ive laid my eyes on. Derived from a Quentin Tarantino script (imagine that) Natural Born Killers is a shocking, visceral and artistic look at the glorification of violence by the media. Its a maddening satirical acid trip into the utter chaos, madness, violence, and anarchy of insanity. Visually its stands alone, no other film compares with the optics of this movie, its complete retinal overload. Shocking, insanely violent, and filled with carnage Natural Born Killers is not a film that exploits violence, but merely tries to artistically look at the media/violence connection and how it affects the public. Utter madness at its best.
Woody Harrelson and Juliette Lewis give excellent performances as Mickey and Mallory Knox. Robert Downey JR, Tommy Lee Jones, and Tom Sizemore also dont disappoint. Very well cast by Stone and company.
Fair warning, not for the faint of heart or those with a shut mind. Great originality and shockingly fun, a brilliant mix of carnage, violence, and romance.
