Vacation is one of the funniest movies of the 80s and even funnier than most comedies that have come after it. It's a silly movie and over-the-top, but that's what makes me enjoy it so much. The story is simple, but it is made so much funnier.
There are many moments in the movie that made me laugh out loud and I could actually picture my family going through some of this stuff. Chevy Chase belongs in this kind of role and he shines in it. Funny, cooky, innocent, he does it all.
Plus, he's hilarious when needed especially when he's called to go off which is one of the funniest parts of the movie.
