Review of Nashville (1975) by Andreas S — 09 Mar 2008
This movie will take a few more viewings to really pick on the finer points, but one is enough to see some of the genius: the direction, which manages to interweave countless storylines and remain coherent; the acting, especially by Blakley, Chaplin, the despicable Carradine, and an elderly Keenan Wynn; and yes, even the music works, even though I can't stand country music.
The ending is daring, and once you get involved in the story, the 2 1/2 hours just melt away. It's an epic movie, and well worth watching.
