Review of Nashville (1975) by Christopher M — 24 Sep 2010
This is sheer brilliance and has one of the greatest acting ensembles ever. The music in the film is beautiful too, and I don't even like country music. The kick-ass script and the strong direction creates a world where the actors have complete control over their characters and all of a sudden "Nashville" is more than where the film takes place.
This is a film that can change from incredibly hilarious, to incredibly depressing, and back again with ease and make the complexity look simple. The "I'm Easy" scene is one of the most heart-breaking and well-acted scenes of the 70's.
The finale is something that people who see the film will never forget and has been rumoured to have predicted the John Lennon assasination.
