Review of Nashville (1975) by Eric H — 10 Mar 2013
I don't care for many Altman films, but I wanted to give this a chance. First off, way too long. Second off, too many conversations going on in which each character seems to be talking to him or herself or to no one at all; they certainly are not speaking to each other in most parts of the film.
Too many characters. I know it's an Altman ensemble film, but I lost track of most of them and only cared about what happened to one or two of them. But I did stick with this film and I slowly gained interest, but I was ot exactly impressed with any of it, apart from the fact that I enjoyed Henry Gibson's performance and I found out that Keith Carradine has a pretty damn good singing voice.
Other than that, it was just too sporadic for me.
