Review of Nashville (1975) by Colm M — 28 Nov 2013
Difficult to absorb initially and over long. I didn't know what the hell was going on to start with as I hadn't read anything about the movie going in. I have to say it became gradually more impressive and affecting as it went on.
A vitriolic attack on post-Nixon America and the myth of the American dream. Its use of the kind of really bad commercial country-pop that Nashville spews out to drill the message home works perfectly.
