Review of Narc (2002) by Kristopher R — 02 Mar 2009
I learned that I don't like Joe Carnahan, which now that I know he is actually making Medellin from Entourage (more or less), I guess that makes sense.
There was something here, something that could have been good, but it was so gritty and urban that it washed its plot out into a nonsensical nub. It reminds me of Smokin Aces (another movie directed by Carnahan), a movie that lost itself in its own wanton excesses, and the director never took a step back and questioned the whole work. Except this movie, unlike that one, didn't totally suck.
Actors are great, Jason Patric needs more work in better projects.
