Review of Napoleon Dynamite (2004) by John K — 23 Jul 2014

A movie that is loved by many and quoted endlessly, "Napoleon Dynamite" is in a league of its own in terms of sheer quirkiness and oddball characters. Napoleon and Pedro's off-kilter chemistry depict the strangest best friends I've ever seen in a movie.

Uncle Rico is hands down one of the best villains, if you can even call him that, in comedy because of his hair-brained schemes and sheer hatred of Napoleon and his friends. Also, the lines in this movie are classic to say the least.

I've used "sweet" and "idiot" in my everyday vocabulary ever since my first viewing of the cult classic. Also, this movie features one of the most underrated movie insults in history: when Deb says she goes door to door to sell homemade crafts to raise money for college, Kip spits out the hilarious one-liner "Your mom goes to college.

" Because of this movie, I will never look at llamas, orange vans, or moon boots the same ever again. All in all, each of the out-of-left-field elements in this comedic gem combine to make not only one of my favorite comedies of all time, but one of my favorite movies of all time.
