Review of Nanking (2007) by Edwin L — 02 Oct 2007
Powerful and gut wretching docu-drama of the Japanese invasion of Nanking China in 1937. Their mission was to loot, destroy and rape, and they did so in great numbers. Over 200,000 died, and over 20,000 rapes occured in the first month alone. The film interviews survivors, Japanese and Chinese soldiers, and had actors portraying some of the foreign heroes that helped save 100,000 by installing a safety zone.
Many right wing Japanese still deny these atrocious events to this day.
