Review of Nanking (2007) by Doug K — 11 Aug 2008
I never realized what the anger over Japan PM's visits to the Yasukuni shrine was until this film. The film is about the brutality of war and depravity of man in times of war. And in the midst of all the gloom, a glimmer of humanity's goodness shines through.
Interestingly, none of the Japanese soldiers involved showed remorse during the interviews. They stated the rapes and kills as if it was a normal thing to do.
