I've finally seen it after years of being told I should. As a Cronenberg fan I'm surprised it took me this long. Definitely effed up, for sure, it was a long, dark journey, and I think, unless you're actually a writer, a lot of the symbolism would be lost on you.
Definitely makes me wonder what Burroughs experience was really like.
