Review of Mystic River (2003) by Alex C — 04 Nov 2010
Call me a beginner, but to me, the movie is the first ever to conceive a true spirit of suspenseful drama. One can feel the thrill of the mystery and contemplate over its ending just by reading the synopsis.
There's something mythical in the story, something that binds the relationships of the people, something invisible but you know there it is, and that's what makes you an addict. The surrounding, the atmosphere, their behavior, their thoughts; the filmmakers put up a lot of thoughts and messages throughout the movie.
And by the time you reach the end, you'll just want a sequel. And you will wonder for the rest of your life.
