This under-watched and under-appreciated movie was an ahead-of-it's-time precursor to "Tropic Thunder", "Dodgeball", "Sin City", and "The Avengers".
Great ensemble cast (Stiller, Azaria, William Macy, Greg Kinnear, Geoffrey Rush, and more). Off-beat humor. Graphic novel roots. Super hero story line. This movie has it all.
If re-released now in the wake of the Dark Knight trilogy, The Avengers, and Stiller's comedy successes, this movie would be a phenomenon.
Do yourself a favor, grab a bunch of friends and rent this DVD.
