Review of Mysterious Skin (2005) by Mark N — 30 Apr 2012
The media's recent hangup with child abuse is no longer brave or challenging as a subject too long ignored or avoided. As much as I enjoy Levitt as an actor I skipped forward and turned off 40minutes in.
The creepy foulness of the setup was uncomfortable and was far too heavy handed, as was the rest of the movies points, and less would definitely been more.
