Review of My Week with Marilyn (2011) by Olga S — 16 May 2012
All I could feel all movie long is an eternal gratitude that I will never be forced to play Marilyn Monroe. It is just as simple and achievable as making Channel # 5 in your friend's basement or explaining how strawberries taste to an eskimo.
Michelle Williams does the job in Marilyn portrayal as this vulnerable burdened with fame bipolar actress. And even though she got all the pieces of the puzzle right - she still failed to be Marilyn. She is not even close.
I am sorry for saying what everyone else was thinking. And if I knew what was it that she missed - I would have played Marilyn myself.
