Too much Cassavetes part I ("The Notebook") and not part II ("Alpha Dog"), "My Sister's Keeper" slips every so often into overly melodramatic territory, but for the most part stays fairly true to the subject.
The performances are solid, and it delivers exactly what viewers want: a two-sided argument regarding the advancement of medicine with a side or two of tears.
