Nowhere as good as the book, but what movie is. I didn't warm to Cameron Diaz in the role of lawyer; however the performances of the children were all very good and really made the movie. Didn't like the attempt to keep the novel's multi-character changing viewpoints and glad the movie abandoned that after the introduction.
Sad of course, but not quite as much as I anticipated.
