Review of My Own Private Idaho (1991) by Taylor E — 06 May 2008
Definitely a little strange, but I actually enjoyed this one. And I'm not typically a Gus Van Sant fan. River Phoenix plays a narcoleptic street hustler looking for his mom. Keanu Reeves is his best friend, a fellow hustler looking to break away from his powerful, wealthy father.
All together, an unusual and visually intriguing little film. Not for everyone, but a change of pace all the same.
