Review of My Own Private Idaho (1991) by Irvin C — 13 Sep 2008
Two street hustlers, one a narcoleptic gay (River Phoenix), the other a rebellious gay-for-pay (Keanu Reeves), form a tenuous bond in a quest to find the former's mother. Beautifully shot and even though Reeves' performance is a little less than satisfactory in parts, Phoenix gives probably the best performance of his relatively short career.
He was nothing short of extraordinary in this and the film is well-worth seeing for his performance alone.
