A dream-like recreation of a classic Shakespearian tale. As uncanny and confusing as it may sometimes be, it's truly mesmerizing with its glimpses of harsh realism and themes that are old as our world.
It's an ode to River Phoenix, who, along with young Keanu Reeves, gives a smashing performance that everybody will remember him for. A stimulating experience and a poetic vision of the great Gus van Sant.
