One of the greatest films of all time. I absolutely think that this and Drugstore Cowboy are the best from Gus Van Sant. The film was obviously independent but still manages to create a big impact. The story was just striking and disturbing.
Many would find the film disturbing but really it is just like Brokeback Mountain only more explicit and has less romance. More of a friendship film than love. River Phoenix was amazing in this and he shall Rest In Peace.
A masterpiece from great director Gus Van Sant.
