Review of My Own Private Idaho (1991) by Mick R — 10 Jul 2012
This movie is a perfect example of why I love indie films. Writer and director Gus Van Sant is at the top of his game, and River Phoenix delivers an incredible performance. Itâ(TM)s too bad that Keanu Reeves didnâ(TM)t continue making more films like this and âRiverâ(TM)s Edgeâ?.
âMy Own Private Idahoâ? is about two male hustlers living on the streets of Portland, Oregon. Mike (Phoenix) and Scott (Reeves) embark on a journey to find Mikeâ(TM)s mother. Scott falls in love with a woman and leaves Mike, whoâ(TM)s in love with Scott, behind.
