Review of My Old Lady (2014) by Dan S — 25 Oct 2014
This very contrived setup of a 57 year old man (Kine) trying to claim his inheritance but blocked by a lifetime duty to a resident (Dame Smith) and her daughter (Kristen Scott Thomas) is droning and painful.
The trailer lead me to expect sharp and witty. There are moments? Yes. But the standard psychology of unhappiness because crap parents comes across as stock. The villain developer is barely notable. Performance are good.
The problem is in the story. It needed to be a LOT smarter.
