Review of My Name Is Bruce (2007) by Joyce G — 24 Mar 2009
From the off this film wasn't as good as I was hoping, but then I don't think it ever could have beem.
Odd is probably the best way to describe it as it merges real Bruce Campbell with a fictional nasty and obnoxious Bruce (which I can't believe is the true him) and features a very odd plot and several performances by Ted Raimi (how they could get away with him playing an old Chinese man I'm still not sure!).
Containing pretty much all the staples of a good monster/horror/comedy it just lacks a certain pizzazz which could take it to the next level - definately one for the Bruce Campbell fans as it displays his full range, but might be hard work for the more casual viewer.
