Review of My Name Is Bruce (2007) by Ka M — 25 Sep 2010
I was beyond excited to see this movie, which is probably why it would never be able to live up to my expectations. With Bruce Campbell in what I thought would be a "Evil Dead" like scenario, I thought that it would feel kind of what an "Evil Dead" spin-off might feel like, and if Sam Rami was directing it might of became just that.
Unfortunatley, this is a bland, unexciting, slight "Galaxy Quest" rip-off, which is never able to catch the feel of the "Evil Dead" films, or just about any other B-Movie feel as well.
The only slight redeeming factor of this movie is just to see Bruce Campbell kill a few for things before he once again disappears into the C-Grade movie star black hole until he pops up in some indie movie.
Even though I am bashing this movie, I am still giving it half a star for that reason.
