Review of My Mom's New Boyfriend (2008) by Canem C — 02 Jul 2008
Okay, a few things about this movie: 1. The plot was kind of improbable, but very predictable. 2. Selma Blair was very Selma Blair, which was good. 3. Antonio Banderas is still hot! 4. Colin Hanks is kinda cute and really not a bad actor.
5. The worst actor in this movie was Meg Ryan, she seemed so fake and she tried to hard to be hip and free and revolutionary, but was utterly unconvincing. 6. Her face is as fake as her acting. Like, seriously.
7. Storyline: Son (Hanks) leaves depressed and stuck-in-a-rut mother (Fatsuit Ryan) to train with the FBI. He comes home years later to find his mom totally reinvented (Fakeface Ryan). He brings home his fiancee (Blair), also with the FBI.
He discovers his mom has been dating a slew of strange men. They meet a new guy (Banderas) who mom totally falls for and who also may or may not be an international criminal. It's a very okay movie, I really couldn't say it was good.
