The movie knows what it is and who it's for. It puts on no airs of trying to appeal to a wider audience, it is a movie made of, by, and for the fans. To the uninitiated, the film may seem an utter cluster of characters and locations and colors. However, to fans of the series, it is a chance to see their favorite characters go to new lands, experience new physical and emotional threats, all with a genuinely gorgeous new coat of paint.
