Every critic that's calling the movie rubbish or bad clearly has lost the ability to see details and nuanced elements carefully woven into the movie by it's creative ensemble.
My Little Pony The Movie dosnt require you to have watched the show, but if you have you can get more out of it. It's animated using Toon Boom instead of flash which gives a lot more fluidity to all the characters.
Do yourself a favour and Check the movie out.
