Review of My Little Pony: The Movie (2017) by Rj A — 07 Oct 2017
Went to go watch the movie as a former fan of the show, and was left completely satisfied and impressed. I can't really come up with any flaws aside that the plot was a tad cliche, and could confuse people who don't know much about the show. Once the plot picks up the pace, then it starts to become enjoyable and apparent that this is not an episode/over-glorified toy commercial. I felt I was going to shed a tear out, quite frankly. Very nostalgic stuff indeed. It's definitely not everyone's cup of tea. I'm aware that people out there could give two shits for friendship, bonds, and warm feelings, but I'm all about that idealistic positivity. I still encourage everyone to give the movie a try. It might surprise you; it certainly surprised me. Animation was on point, too. Fantastic job to all the people involved with the movie, and actors/actresses. 9/10 at most. Nothing revolutionary, but completely welcome as a movie. Critics, as to expect, are blowing out of proportion about how mediocre to a bad movie it is. Oooohhh, bright colors too much to handle? Please. You're all not going to experience a case of epilepsy. Grow some backbone for once.
Not only will I watch the movie again with different people, but I also have a small urge to get into the show again.
