Review of My Little Pony: The Movie (2017) by Samuel H — 05 Oct 2017

Objectively 3 stars, subjectively 5. I loved it. If you're not a fan of the characters, you'll probably want to skip (but who knows, maybe this is how you get into it). But if you already are at the point where you could name a dozen ponies from memory, then this movie will be very, very fun. The story is not original. It's cliche and trope filled (and self-aware as such). But it nails the charm of the show perfectly, and it's obvious the crew who produced it have an abundant affection for the characters.

I only went for the kids. I was skeptical. The trailer looked meh. But I was pleasantly surprised. Sad it's over because it's rare for "fan service" movies to pull it off this well.
