Review of My Little Pony: Equestria Girls (2013) by Mathew S — 05 Oct 2013

I'm NO brony, I think the whole phenomenon is kind of sad. However, I do have a six year old daughter. Although most episodes of this show are at least on par with the average Dreamworks movie, if not better, and some of them are even pretty well written, there are the occasional clunkers and even some that are downright intellectually insulting, like Feeling Pinkie Keen.

This movie falls somewhere between the clunkers and the intellectually insulting. The writing is terrible, it's really poorly thought-out and definitely doesn't even try to make sense. It's like a badly written episode that got stretched into a movie.

It's also the equivalent of Pixar's Cars 2, in terms of what was to be expected from the creators of the show. Definitely to be avoided.
