Review of My Kid Could Paint That (2007) by James R — 05 Mar 2008
If you spent thousands of dollars on this kids paintings, you ought to have your finances repossessed! The documentary gets slanted halfway through when it is questioned about the authenticity of Marla's paintings.
The only moral characters in this are the mother and Marla and her lil bro. Her father is obviously lying -- look at his nervous twitching and darting eyes. I am sure the mother knows about the lie but doesn't want to hurt her family's reputation (which she flat out said in the ending interview.
) I hope this kid grows up and denounces her father...but I guess she will probably end up covering up after she takes some art classes. This makes me wonder about other child prodigies throughout history.
