Review of My Kid Could Paint That (2007) by Bob M — 07 Mar 2008
There's a couple things to hate about this movie. first, there's a "i found the story first" nudge of a reporter in this that makes it almost unwatchable. and the film-maker can't help but make himself part of the movie, which I find almost unforgiveable, but that said, the movie does sorta get at interesting questions like why do people make art, why do people buy art, why are people threatened by other people's opinions on art, and most interestingly, why does the concept of Art elevate this kid's story to anything other than that of a kindergarten beauty pageant contestant.
