Review of My Kid Could Paint That (2007) by Melissa C — 29 Aug 2008
I must be picking good movies because once again I started watching this alone and by the end, Gilbert, Viet, and Keena were watching it and we all talked about it after. This is an exceptional documentary looking at 4-year old "prodigy" painter.
When I teach, this will be the first film in class I show to help open up a discussion of art, its interpretation, and its value, which in cinema, is always a big debate. It is more than just about art however, the last line sums it up best, "it is about grown-ups.
..she's just a little girl, painting in her house".
