Review of My Kid Could Paint That (2007) by Walter M — 24 Nov 2008
My writing professor, elizabeth cohen, is in the film and she just recently showed it to the class as an example of an explosive narrative. The movie morphed from a film about modern art and a young girl painting abstract "works of art," to something completely differet.
It is quite an intriguing documentary, and the doubt in my mind as to whether this young girl's father helped create some of her works still lies somewhere in my mind. We will never know completely what the truth really is, but it is interesting to watch how the movie progresses from something about a 4-year old painter, to the film-makers own doubts about the subject at hand.
