Review of My Girl (1991) by Lucas S — 16 Oct 2009
My Girl is very entrertaining and touching. But it is also very sad. The behavior of the main character Veda (Anna Chlumsky) was very fun to follow during the film. She is onsessed with death since she is raised in a funeral home with her father (Dan Akroyd). Her dad is starting to date a woman who is working with him (Jamie Lee Curtis) and Veda is not happy. Veda mostly talks with her best friend Thomas J. (Macauly Culkin) and they are mostly together for the film. Thomas J. is mostly Veda's helper like he talks to her when she has problems and all that stuff. It had really great performances in this film also. But the scene that everybody loves in this movie is when Veda and Thomas kiss. It is probably one of the best kissing scenes with children ever made. But overall this is a great movie but the ending is sad and might be disturbing for younger viewers.
