Review of My Favorite Martian (1999) by Daniel F — 23 Dec 2007

Well, it was sort of true to the original tv series. A bit modernized compared to it, which means throwing in some big breasted women and adding more action, which frankly does nothing for the movie. Compared to other movies it's bad, but it get's a plus for nostalgia's sake.

Good effects, except for a few actors who don't know how to act with CGI, but it really shouldn't have needed the effects. I would have like a lot more silly effects like the tv series. The plot is still silly but it just falls flat with the modern effects and tons of celebrity cameos.

They simply tried too hard when the whole premise of the My Favorite Martian is supposed to be silliness. Not to mention the usual crap romance story thrown in the comedy.
