Review of My Father's Glory (1990) by Julian H — 12 Jul 2011
Few films combine eyes-open realism with sentimentality as well as My Father's Glory. This might be understood better as a "man's movie" in the best way, in the same way that 'Field of Dreams' is really about the queer relationships fathers have with their sons.
It's incredibly moving and a loving portrayal of family life in all its complications. I cannot recommend this movie highly enough.
