Review of My Father's Glory (1990) by Sheila C — 12 Oct 2012
Beautifully filmed childhood reminisces of Marcel Pagnol, set in 1910 in the hills around Provencal. More an examination of Pagnol's adoration of his family and country life, the film is loosely themed around Marcel's determination to bolster his father's perceived omniscience, and his discovering in the process that adult's are not perfect either.
Lush, gentle and idyllic, a superb film.
